The first round the sixth edition of the Indian Premier League is finally over. Spread over a month and a half with innumerable matches -- some forgettable, a few memorable and a few, sadly, controversial, we finally have got our top four teams. Here’s a closer look at how the sides, who have made it to the top four, have performed.

Delhi Daredevils have been among the worst sides in this year’s IPL, and hence it wasn’t surprising that they went down without a fight even in their last game, against Pune Warriors at the Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium in Pune.

There were two chief aspects to Sunrisers Hyderabad’s clash against Kolkata Knight Riders at Uppal. One, they were under extreme pressure, knowing that had to beat Kolkata to qualify.

With SRH winning the contest, Royal Challengers Bangalore have been knocked out of the tournament.

Pune Warriors won the battle of the last two spots in IPL 6 by beating the Delhi Daredevils by 38 runs to finish in the penultimate position. It was a strong batting show from the hosts Pune as they piled up 172 for 5. Delhi in reply were kept down to 134 for 9.

An eight-overs-a-side game in more like a lottery rather than a cricket match, where few players come in and try their luck. It goes without saying that the better side doesn’t always win in such contests
